HERE'S A PROFILE OF OUR CURRENT BAR STAFF! THIS MONTH IT'S.....

Margaret the Mighty

Margaret has 5 children and likes to talk about them; she is obviously a proud Mum of 5 boys. Although of Scottish origin, Margaret moved to England to join the Sassenachs 35 years ago although still retains her Scottish lilt to show her pride in her origins. I don’t thinks that she had enough porridge as a small girl because she stopped growing quite early. However, whilst diminutive in stature there is no mountain too high for her. You only have to enter the kitchen when she is working to find her clambering over shelves and cupboards to get whatever she needs. Many a time I have heard a small voice calling from somewhere above me saying ‘please help’ – in Scottish of course – and I have to help her down to ground level again carrying the largest saucepan you can imagine.

Apart from working like a Trojan in our kitchen, she enjoys a regular cup of tea which is often cold when we get round to drinking it. Late in the evening, we have a special secret that only a couple of the staff knows about – the way to the secret fridge! Margaret enjoys writing and reading poetry and is also a member of her local ‘odd fellows’.
